Dali Atomicus (1948) by Halsman

Philippe Halsban was an American photographer mostly known for his portraiture. He was part of the Russian Empire and was born in a Jewish family. He studied engineering in Dresden. He has also falsely been accused to have murdered his father on a trip to the Austrian Tyrol. He has worked for fashion magazines including Vogue where he became famous for his portrait photography tag in France. His first famous image after going to the US was called 'Victory Red'. He met Salvador Dali in 1941 and they started collaborating after that.

This is an image by a photographer from the 1930 that has collaborated with Dali. They have both made several images and this is the one of those most famous ones out of all of those. It is a portrait of Dali that has been inspired by his own painting called Leda Atomica. They both had to do several attempts in order to get the right composition for this portraiture. I personally really love the photograph. It is so cleverly composed and obviously as seen in the photograph, it has taken a lot of effort to achieve it as well. If you have a first look at the photograph it looks quite surreal because it is not something that can be seen easily.
